A Singapore Prize Has Been Established For the First TimeA Singapore Prize Has Been Established For the First Time
A Singapore prize has been awarded for the first time to a book written on the history of the country. The prize was established by a donation from an anonymous donor and is administered by the Department of History from the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Its winner, the book “Singapore and the Silk Road of the Sea, 1300-1800,” was selected from a shortlist of 11 books. The book is the result of research conducted by John Miksic, an archaeologist. The prize is worth up to S$500,000, which is roughly US$40,000. It is to be given annually for three years.
The award was created after an opinion column Prof Mahbubani wrote in April 2014, calling for Singapore philanthropists to donate the cash prize for the best history book written on Singapore. The idea was to encourage people to read about the country’s history and understand its development. An anonymous donor stepped forward to offer S$500,000, which is placed in an endowment fund that will be used to support the prize.
An international event held every four years, the World Championships have been run by the International Cricket Council since 1998. They have been held in Europe, North America and Asia. This year’s tournament will take place in Singapore, a first for the series. The event will have a total prize pool of $18 million, which is lower than the previous one, which had a prize pool of $20 million.
During the competition, which runs from January to May, players from all over the world compete against each other for a chance to win a prize that can include cash, merchandise or even tickets to future events. In addition to winning a prize, players can also qualify for the Major Games Awards. These are similar to Olympic medal incentives and are designed to help athletes make a living from their sport by competing in Olympic, Asian, Commonwealth and South East Asian Games.
To qualify for a prize, a player must meet certain criteria, including participating in at least three of the five rounds. Each round includes a qualifying tournament, a finals match and a winners’ parade. The qualifying tournaments are open to all ICC member nations, while the finals and winners’ parade are only for those who have won a qualification point. There is no limit to the number of times a person can participate in the qualifiers, although they must be from a different country from the country of the finals. Unlike most gambling laws, prize promotions and contests are legal in Singapore. Nevertheless, they must be conducted in accordance with Singapore’s Betting and Sweepstake Duties Act. The prize must be advertised to the public and does not involve any illegal activities, such as gambling. Prizes must be of a reasonable value, and the prizes must not promote products or services that are unfit for the purpose intended by the prize. Also, the prize must not be given to a minor.
